On the return bus trip from my night class, I noticed a very young girl fawning over my bright pink hair. Her mother discouraged her from bothering me or speaking with strangers, especially “troubled teens.” Instead, the child retorted, “She’s not troubled, Mommy— she’s a princess!” Becoming royalty for a day GMH.

My aunt had terminal brain cancer and the doctors told my uncle that he should buy a hospital bed to put in their home. His reply? “I’ve never seen a hospital bed made for two.” He was completely serious and that GMH.
