I don’t have a picture or a poem or a short, eloquent quote to capture the love I experienced last night. But if I don’t share it with someone, I will simply explode. In the dark, under a tent made of blankets, stools, and one large, comfy chair with a space heater and a laptop, we watched a movie. We held hands. We listened to music. He held me. Tight. We switched places. I held him. Back scratches, collar bone, stroking hair, kissing head, kissing arm, kissing chest, hands up and down my legs, weaving in and out of sleep. He asked me over and over again, “Are you comfortable?” “Are you cold?” He asked me to stay, but as always, leaves my options wide open. Faces side by side. Foreheads together. Lips brush, just once, barely, barely. Almost accidental. I’ve never wanted to freeze a moment so badly in my life. I couldn’t bring myself to get up and leave until 3:30 am. I have learned the difference between sexual and sensual. The most amazing, intimate experience I’ve ever had. All I can do is pray and put forth my very best effort to ensure that it happens again. And again. And again.
